Japan
From Andrew Garton's wiki
Notes, links, information for the visit to Tokyo, 2 - 9 August 2008.
Rationale
I'm participating in the iCommons iSummit in Sapporo, Osaka, from 29 Jul to 1 Aug. From 2 Aug I will travel to Tokyo, using the opportunity of being in Japan, to:
- Seek distribution for Secession Records artist releases;
- Distribution and soft launch of the new Son of Science CD;
- Opportunities to host the innovative Border Song Machinima Installation (John Power and Andrew Garton);
- Where possible, continue research for the APC Strategic Scoping Paper, Growing the Information Commons.
This visit also affords the chance to meet Tokyo based sound artists and musicians, listen to new works and bands and investigate possibilities of a Son of Science installation / performance in 2009.
It has also been suggested that I visit local NGOs and of course, APC member JCAFE.
