Description

Performance for solo voice, oral microphone, hard curve saturation and open licensed visuals.

GRIT 02 examines the death of analogue broadcasting by way of readings from numerous sources describing the process of enclosure on public spectrum, the airways and the cultural diversity it affords humanity. The digital spectrum promises to further the spread of sameness, homogeneous societies the world over.

Homogeneity means being similar throughout^[1]. What homogeneity brings to societies is an illusion. Sameness is celebrated. Difference is discarded. It is a monoculture, a folly. Sameness will be our undoing.

Technical requirements

Sound

1 x 4 / 6 channel stereo sub-mixer (balanced microphone and line input required)
1 x stereo line input to PA mixer (from sub-mixer)
1 x microphone / balanced + lead
1 x microphone stand with boom arm
1 x USB / midi keyboard controller (minimum two octaves) + drivers
Suitable stand / table / plinth for mixer, laptop, MIDI keyboard and mouse
- Preferably two (keyboard at front of performer, laptop, monitor and mixer to the right)

Video

1 x video projector
1 x DVD
1 x projection surface, the largest that can be arranged.
- NOTE: preference for rear projection at rear of performer.

Misc

15"/17" LCD monitor + RGB cable (second monitor for laptop_
Discrete desk lamp
Power
Quiet / private room for vocal preparation
